Rock Valley Credit Union Wins Social Responsibility Community Service Award

November 7, 2022

LOVES PARK, Ill. (Nov. 7, 2022) Rock Valley Credit Union (RVCU) a local and independent financial institution that offers personal solutions for individual and family banking needs, is pleased to announce it is the recipient of the Illinois Credit Union League’s (ICUL) Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award.

According to the ICUL website, the award honors the work of credit unions to strengthen local institutions and materially improve the lives of nonmembers through community outreach programs other than personal finance education. Credit unions across the state submitted entries for community involvement initiatives occurring during the past year. One winner was selected from each of the four asset categories, with RVCU receiving the award for credit unions with $50 – $250 million in assets.

“We are extremely proud of this recognition as it’s based directly on our engagement with the community,” said Darlyne Keller, President and CEO of RVCU. “We are committed to engaging and connecting with and focusing on making a positive impact on our member and nonmembers, and we’re continually appreciative of the support the community gives to RVCU.”

RVCU was recognized for its “12 Days of Giving” initiative, where 10 area non-profits were each surprised with a $2,500 donation. The donations helped support children, homeless support groups, animals, and others throughout the Rockford region. Additionally, more than $30,000 in cash and prizes was given to its members – to thank them for their partnership and support them during challenging economic times.

RVCU received the award during the ICUL Annual Conference in Chicago on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022. For more information about Rock Valley Credit Union, visit rockvalleycreditunion.org.
